— Overview
A complete approach to the work.
Most organizations discover the gaps in their backup and disaster recovery posture during the actual disaster — which is the worst possible time. Backups that ran every night turn out to have been failing silently for six months. Recovery procedures that looked solid on paper take forty-eight hours instead of four to execute. Off-site copies turn out to be a single zip file on a USB drive in a desk drawer.
TronsIT Solutions delivers backup and disaster recovery as an operated service, not a deployed product. Backups are monitored, validated, and tested. Recovery procedures are documented in runbooks that have been actually executed end-to-end. RTO and RPO targets are written into your service agreement and reported against quarterly.
When something goes wrong — and given enough time, something always does — you should be confident that recovery will work the way it was designed to. That confidence comes from testing, not from configuration.

Backup & DR Strategy
We design backup and disaster recovery around your actual business priorities — which systems can tolerate downtime, which cannot, what data loss tolerance is acceptable, and what compliance frameworks apply.
The output is a written backup and DR strategy that defines RPO and RTO targets per workload, identifies the protection mechanism for each, and lays out the testing cadence. This becomes the source of truth for the engagement.
- Workload-level RPO/RTO definitions
- Off-site and geo-redundant strategy
- Testing cadence and validation approach
- Protection mechanism per workload
- Compliance alignment (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO)
Backup Operations
Backups run continuously across your environments — servers, endpoints, cloud workloads, SaaS data, and databases. Every job is monitored, and failed jobs trigger alerts within minutes, not at the next morning’s manual review.
We use enterprise-grade backup platforms (Veeam, Rubrik, native cloud snapshots) configured for your specific workloads. Retention policies are aligned with your compliance and operational requirements, not vendor defaults.
- Server and VM backup (on-prem and cloud)
- SaaS backup (M365, Google Workspace, Salesforce)
- Retention policies aligned with compliance
- Endpoint backup for distributed workforces
- Database backup with point-in-time recovery
Off-Site Replication
Local backups protect against operational mistakes (deleted files, ransomware). Off-site replication protects against catastrophic local failures (fire, flood, regional cloud outages).
Every protected workload has an off-site copy in a geographically separate location. Replication is monitored continuously, and replication failures are treated with the same urgency as backup failures.
- Geographic redundancy across regions
- Cross-cloud replication where appropriate
- Verified data integrity at the destination
- Continuous replication monitoring
- Air-gapped copies for ransomware resilience
Recovery Procedures
Recovery procedures are documented in runbooks that have been executed end-to-end. We do not assume a backup is restorable — we restore it regularly to a test environment to prove it works.
Runbooks define exactly who does what during recovery, what tools and credentials are required, and what the expected timeline looks like. There is no improvisation during an actual incident.
- Per-workload recovery runbooks
- Tested credential and access procedures
- Post-recovery validation checklists
- Documented escalation and communication paths
- Recovery time tracking against agreed RTO
Testing & Validation
Untested backups are theoretical. We run scheduled recovery tests against the runbooks — restoring workloads to test environments, validating data integrity, and measuring actual recovery time against agreed targets.
Test results are documented and shared. Failures get root-caused and remediated. The next test verifies the remediation worked.
- Quarterly recovery testing per workload
- Test results documented and reported
- Continuous improvement against RTO/RPO targets
- Annual full-DR scenario exercises
- Failures root-caused and remediated

— Common Questions
Things people ask us.
How do you test backups without disrupting our production environment?
Recovery testing happens in isolated test environments — never production. We restore representative workloads, validate data integrity and application functionality, then discard the test environment. Production is never touched during testing.
What is your approach to ransomware-resilient backups?
Air-gapped copies maintained in separate accounts with separate credentials, immutable storage where the platform supports it, and tested isolation procedures during incident response. Ransomware-specific runbooks are part of every engagement.
Can you support compliance requirements like HIPAA or SOC 2 audits?
Yes. Our backup procedures, documentation, retention policies, and testing cadence are designed to support HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 readiness. We can serve as a vendor reference during your audits.
